  • If you are just using it as a standalone dash gauge, your wiring is incredibly straightforward. You only need to hook up two wires from the 10-pin harness to get it up and running.
    🔌 Standalone Wiring Steps
    1. Red Wire (Pin 1): Connect this to a Switched 12V (+) power source.
      • Tip: Choose a circuit that only gets power when the key is turned to the "ON" or "RUN" position (like a cigarette lighter or radio circuit). Do not connect it directly to the battery, or the gauge will stay on permanently and drain your battery.
    2. Black Wire (Pin 2): Connect this to a clean Chassis Ground (-) or engine block ground.
    3. Isolate the rest: Insulate the tips of the remaining loose wires (White, Brown, Blue, Green/Black, White/Black) with electrical tape or heat shrink so they don't accidentally touch metal and short out.
    4. Plug in the sensor: Run the 8-pin harness through the firewall and plug it straight into the Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor in your exhaust.
    ⏱️ Essential Warm-Up Routine
When you turn the key on, the gauge face will display a countdown or flash a reading like --- or HEAT.
Do not crank the engine immediately. Clone gauges have fragile heater control circuits. It is highly recommended to let the gauge finish its warm-up cycle (usually about 20–30 seconds) until it reads ambient air before you turn the key further to start the car. This prevents thermal shock from cold moisture hitting a rapidly heating sensor element, which is the #1 cause of dead sensors on these aftermarket units.
Are you planning to weld a new exhaust bung for the oxygen sensor, or are you mounting it into an existing spot? If you're welding a new one, You need it on a 10 Degree angle to prevent condensation damage.
