These DA secondary metering rods are built for Rochester Quadrajet carburettors originally fitted to GM L34 engines. With a .0443" tip diameter, they provide a richer secondary fuel curve—ideal for performance and restoration use. 

This DA size is known to be the best secondary metering rod spec to use when combined with 74 or 75 main jets. This setup on a Holden V8 253 or 308 Rochester Quadrajet is ideal. 

To find the size of your old secondary rods it will be stamped on the side of the rod. All factory fitted secondary rods were designed for emissions and not performance.

For performance you need to run the fine tip rod with a slight tapper which the DA are. So if your old rods have a fat tip and big steps in them they are not performance rods

Secondary enrichment begins with air valve movement and with DA rods reaches full delivery at approximately 80 degrees of air valve opening. These rods help tune that curve precisely, affecting wide-open throttle response and power delivery.
