On Holley-style carburettors, the accelerator pump is critical for clean tip-in and it also sees regular servicing as cams and diaphragms are tuned. A damaged or warped pump cover can cause seepage and inconsistent pump action, so replacing it is a smart move during a rebuild. Fit it carefully, ensure the diaphragm is seated correctly, and set the pump arm clearance to suit your setup.
