The Edelbrock 1407 Performer Series 750 CFM carburettor is engineered for high performance street use, offering excellent throttle response, reliable drivability and strong airflow for larger displacement V8 engines. Using Edelbrock’s proven metering rod system, the 1407 provides smooth circuit transitions and allows jet and rod changes in seconds without removing the carburettor or draining fuel. Unlike designs that rely on power valves, this carburettor is unaffected by engine backfires, making it exceptionally durable and stable under demanding conditions.
The 1407 is known for its ability to hold a tune, maintaining consistent calibration once set. Its lightweight, two-piece all-aluminium body resists warping, supports gasohol and blended fuels, and uses tub-type fuel bowls with rear-pivot floats for predictable fuel control. With mechanical secondaries, this model delivers strong mid-range and top-end performance, making it ideal for street rods, muscle cars, performance cruisers and mild to moderately modified engines requiring increased airflow.
