The Carter AFB 9000 Series 625 CFM carburettor is a modern continuation of one of the most respected street-performance carburettor designs ever produced. Originally developed in the 1950s and refined over decades, the AFB (Aluminium Four Barrel) remains a favourite for classic V8 engines thanks to its smooth operation, excellent fuel control and straightforward tuning.
This 625 CFM electric choke model is emission-calibrated and well suited to small and medium displacement V8s used in street and mild performance applications. The lightweight aluminium construction reduces heat soak, while the auxiliary air valve secondary system ensures fuel delivery matches engine air demand for clean, progressive power.
The 625 CFM series with Electric Choke are the only AFB carburetors using a secondary throttle lockout to eliminate secondary throttle operation during the choke cycle. The throttle lockout latch is triggered by the fast idle cam.
