Fuel bowl gaskets are a normal consumable on Holley-style carburettors because any time you remove a bowl for jets, power valves or float adjustment the gasket can tear or compress. Starting with a fresh gasket helps prevent weeping, keeps fuel off hot manifolds, and makes tuning far less frustrating.
